When it comes to thinking about the best SUV to buy for all around needs it helps to take a look at the 2012 Chevrolet Suburban. This is a 7 seater SUV that has support for plenty of space for more people and can work with some special features that make it excel over some of the other competitors that the vehicle is often compared to.

Spacious for Everyone

This is a 7 seater SUV that has plenty of support for people. In fact, most standard variants of this Suburban can handle eight people. The Suburban 2012 works with a maximum payload of around 1,600 pounds. It also handles a large cargo space.

The Suburban 2012 can handle 137.4 cubic feet of cargo space. The room for each individual person is also larger than what other vehicles have. For example, the Suburban has 41.1 inches of front headroom. Most cars like this don’t go beyond 40 inches in that category. Meanwhile, the legroom in each row is close to the 40 inch range. This provides for comfort in all rows regardless of where one is at.

It Supports Unique Fuel

The engine that the 2012 Suburban features is a 5.3L V8 engine. This uses electronic fuel injection and supports a four wheel drive system. It also gets around 21 mpg on the highway. It is stronger than the 18 mpg that the two cars Chevrolet often compares this vehicle to, the Ford Expedition and Toyota Sequoia, has to offer.

This is interesting but what makes this engine so useful is that it works with not only gas but also with ethanol. The ethanol support in this vehicle works in that a strong E85 blend of fuel can be used. This is a cleaner fuel option that will not wear the engine out easily and is much easier to renew than other forms of fuel. In fact, this fuel can be found at a cheaper rate than other traditional fuels. The availability of this fuel should increase over time, thus making this all the more interesting for anyone to find.

Safety is a Must in Case of This Big Chevy SUV

Anyone who drives an SUV with lots of people in it knows that the best SUV to buy can be one that works with security and safety in mind. This is where the features of the Suburban come in handy. The Suburban works with a series of safety features to keep all people in the vehicle secure.

The vehicle uses the StabiliTrak system to help monitor the ways how the vehicle is operating. The positions of the wheels are all monitored to see that they are working properly.

An anti-theft system is also used as a standard feature. There are also airbags around the front row and sides and even a tire pressure monitor.

The OnStar system that Chevrolet uses is also popular. This is a standard feature that allows people to communicate in the event of a wreck and can work to trigger remote functions. It also works to support hands-free calling functions. This is useful and can be included in any Suburban for the first couple of months. It will cost an additional amount of money each month to use the service after the trial period ends.

2012 Chevrolet Suburban & Three Choices

There are three different trims that this 7 seater SUV can come in. These are the LS, LT and LTZ.

The LS features seating for eight with an option to expand the seating to nine. This comes from an optional feature to get a cloth 40/20/40 bench front row to help support the capacity for nine that this model can feature. It works with cloth seats and three climate control zones. It also has a USB port, Bluetooth support and support for OnStar services for six months. It costs extra to keep using OnStar after the trial ends.

The LT has seating for eight as well. Its front seats, meanwhile, are heated and are made with leather. The leather also extends to the second row. In addition to the feature on the LS, the LT trim has a nine speaker stereo system powered by Bose technology. It also includes fog lamps in the front.

The LTZ only fits seven people but it has additional features that go alongside what the LS and LT already have. It features twenty inch wheels to create a stronger ride. It also has a heated second row of seats to go with the front row. The navigation screen comes with a touch screen function while the driver and passenger seats can be adjusted in twelve different ways. A rear view camera is also included. Even the steering wheel is heated.

What About the Outside of the Car?

Of course, the inside features of the Subruban already make it one of the most notable SUVs with seven seats but there are several other things that make the Suburban so useful. These include things on the outside of the car.

The Suburban has a relatively simple exterior. This includes an extended window space around the third row and a grille that is divided in upper and lower halves. The 222-inch size of the vehicle makes it easy for people to recognize on the street as well. The main features that come with the exterior will advance it to where it is above average. It works with standard aluminum wheels that shine and are easy to notice. It also uses headlamps and daytime running lights that work automatically.

The mirrors can be heated to help defrost them as needed. In fact, the mirror on the driver’s side can be adjusted with a power function.

All of these features and more will make for one of the best SUVs to buy when looking for something that can handle seven people. The 2012 Chevrolet Suburban can be found for values that range from $42,000 for a basic LS model to around $60,000 for a LTZ model. It can also cost $1,000 extra for the Convenience Package, a package that features adjustable pedals, a rear parking assist function and a rear view camera. The first row bench can also work as an option. It can actually reduce the value of the car by a few hundred dollars.
